With over 3,000 babies since 1982 our record speaks for itself. but there's more to treatment than just the numbers; there are the equally important elements of compassion and understanding. And although our doctors are nationally recognized for their breakthrough achievements, their most important concern is your health, your hopes, your baby.”

What’s great about this site: If you visit Coastal Fertility, you have to take a look at the testimonials of parents who had a hard time having a baby. Dr. Wherlin and staff made them feel comfortable. Some of the parents were successful at first attempt.

2. www.InfertilitySpecialist.com exclusively features fellowship trained reproductive endocrinologists. Through their state and zip code fertility, you will get information from fellowship trained infertility specialists.

3. http://www.ihr.com/infertility/provider/ Provides an extensive directory of infertility clinics and donor egg / surrogacy programs, with links to clinic websites. Listings contain helpful program descriptions.

4. http://www.yourfertility.com/clinics/clinics.htm

5. www.fertilitynetwork.com

Here’s how the fertility network presents its information to you. They have a large network of clinics in practically all the states. When you go to the web site, you can click on the dots representing states to find lots of information on infertility fertility clinics. Here’s how the fertility network describes fertility doctors. “Most infertility specialists are called reproductive endocrinologists. Reproductive endocrinologists typically have 2-3 years of formal training beyond that of an Ob/Gyn. Most often they work at clinics where in vitro fertilization is a common treatment regimen. We have an extensive list of ivf clinics on our site. IVF is a procedure that often uses infertility drugs to stimulate the production of multiple eggs that are fertilized outside the body and implanted in the uterus.” Here’s what they have to say about fertility drugs. “Fertility drugs are an important ingredient of successful therapy. We provide links to several pharmacies that specialize in fertility drugs. Infertility drugs can be expensive and the treatment has many details to consider. Specialized pharmacies provide an understanding and a service that cannot be matched at your everyday pharmacy. We have a regional list andd a mail order list of pharmacies that specialize in infertility drugs.”

6. Newsweekshowcase.com presents fertility, infertility clinics and reproductive clinics.

Here is how it presents the information to help you make up your mind. “More than 6.1 million people nationwide experience infertility, the inability to conceive and carry a pregnancy to delivery after one year of well-timed intercourse. While the disease is often thought of as a female problem, the fact is that “approximately about one-third of infertility cases can be attributed to male factors, and about one-third to factors that affect women. For the remaining one-third of infertile couples, infertility is caused by a combination of problems in both partners or, in about 20 percent of cases, is unexplained,” according to the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM).” Furthermore, the author of this site recognizes the type of problem infertility can bring to a relationship. “Infertility is a hidden life crisis; there are no visible wounds. Individuals and couples unable to have children experience grief and loss as each treatment fails. Infertility has a ripple effect; it may impact self-esteem, relationships with family and friends, a couple’s intimacy and may put life plans on hold. The hope that “next month will be the month that I will get pregnant” can continue for months or years. Seeking good care from a board-certified reproductive endocrinologist can move treatment forward.” You can find more information on the site.

7. Infertilityclinics.org presents a list of states with their own fertility clinics. It presents infertility support, information, community and support.

When is the best time for you to get Pregnant? Can it be any time you want?

When is the best time for you to get Pregnant? Can it be any time you want?

Many fertility doctors are recommending that women should not put off having children if they do not have to. OB/GYN specialists at Columbia University Medical Center, UCLA and elsewhere are advising single women in their thirties to try to have a baby on their own. If they can not have the baby, they may want to start making plans to adopt one. Waiting too long, you may run the risk of having to deal with declining fertility issues. Most of the specialists will tell you that a woman's fertility begins to decline in her late twenties.

In an age when more and more women are spending longer time getting educated, there is a tendency to wait far too long. It is good to have an education, but keep track of the clock. Those who can not afford to wait because of important duties may want to start making plans. Some women who have to leave for military deployment end up having their eggs frozen. There is a cost to pay, but it may end up being worth it in the end.

Top Secret: Sexual Guidance for Married Couples by Ms. Lootah Gives SEX ED to Muslim Women and Others

This is a book that Oprah will undoubtedly showcase on her show. She will probably recommend it to many of her readers. To say that it is written by a liberated Muslim woman does not diminish anything from its impact on women in the Middle East and the US. The premises are that Ms. Lootah wants to help muslim women get comfortable talking about and enjoying sex. Well, she is on a mission to change things for women in her country and elsewhere. She is not shy to talk or write about finding and experiencing orgasm. This book has been rocking the Muslim world these days. And she did all of that with specific quotes from the Koran! Now, do you think that most Muslim men would appreciate and encourage her work?

No. Not all of them want to hear about that. Some of them even go as far as threatening to kill her. Many of these guys may be hypocrite. In the book, the author warns against or confronts homosexuality because many men use other men for their sexual experience and expect to continue to receive the same acts from their spouse when they get married. No wonder Ms. Lootah has to counsel them when they are faced with divorce. According to Dubai's laws, couples contemplating divorce must first get some counseling to solve their marital issues. Ms. Lootah did not write the book for herself. "In Saudi Arabia and other countries where the genders are rigorously separated, many men have their first sexual experiences with other men, which affects their attitudes toward sex in marriage, Ms. Lootah said.

“Many men who had anal sex with men before marriage want the same thing with their wives, because they don’t know anything else,” Ms. Lootah said. “This is one reason we need sex education in our schools.”

She wrote for women who are not even sure whether they could kiss their partner all over their body. Now they have a book they can turn to. She gave the example of an older woman whose world was rocked when she discovered orgasm. She spent all of these years to procreate. She is now a grandmother who had never experienced sexual satisfaction with her husband. Ms. Lootah gave many other examples in the book.

Ms. Lootah is not some type of sexual activist. She is a marital counselor in Dubai's main courthouse. In her job, she has seen many couples battling intimacy issues. She realized that a lot of them are not educated in the matters of sex ed. Muslims should not limit their sexual pleasures. For that, she is a new evangelist in the Arab world. It is nothing new for many Muslim men who get this type of sexual favors from foreign women brought to the country because of the growing economy and oil revenues. In the age of the Internet, SMS, text message, twitter and other tech gadgets, it will be hard to keep these repressed Muslim women with a veil over their brain. Ms. Lootah wants to change the statut quo. She wants Muslim women to know about their G spot and make specific requests from their partners who may be surprised by such requests. It may be too much work for some of them.

"Top Secret: Sexual Guidance for Married Couples" should be on the table or private library of every single Muslim family. Well, they must not let the kids have access to it!

Honor killings are still prevalent in the region. Women can not have sex before being married. If they engage in such activities, they can be stoned to death or hung. Men can also die if they take the virginity of a woman whom they do not want to marry. No wonder that both sexes have to cut corners!

I am sure Oprah will recommend this book. Anybody will find something edifying in it.

The Role of Science in Fertility: Kids Made to Order: Do You Want Green Eyes, Dark Skin or Blonde Hair?

Kids Made-to-Order: Science Gone Awry
Bishop Sgreccia Points to Instinct of Manipulation

A Los Angeles-based fertility clinic offering would-be parents a child made-to-order -- complete with the desired skin tone or hair color -- is an example of science when it is not put at the service of the good, says Bishop Elio Sgreccia.
The retired president of the Pontifical Academy for Life spoke to Vatican Radio today about an offer from The Fertility Institutes, to give would-be parents the physical traits they want in their child -- green eyes, for example, or dark skin or blonde hair.
The process screens babies at the first stages of life -- applying technology already used to kill children for sex selection, or who have or could develop genetic defects -- and selects thos e embryos that meet the tastes of the buyer. The rest are eliminated. The price tag for the process is about $18,000. The Fertility Institutes claims to already have some half-dozen requests for the service.
Bishop Sgreccia said this "is not the first time that these kinds of announcements come up, which have the objective of increasing the number of clients. In any case, it is about an ethically mistaken operation, and one that wounds the dignity of the offspring, since it is oriented toward manipulating the body, dominating it and transforming it according to one's tastes."
The bishop said that just as it is illicit for a child that has or could develop defects to be eliminated by negative selection, "it is also illicit to make a selection that obeys only the wishes of the parents."
"This is a typical example of science that is not placed at the service of the good, but rather at the desires of those who buy its services; meanwhile t hose who pay the price in this case are the children," he lamented. "When a norm of creation that is so delicate is violated, the law should take interest in this field."
Bishop Sgreccia said the situation points to the "instinct of manipulation," an instinct that can be detected in the times of Nazism "to a certain degree, since they didn't know everything that is known today." This instinct to manipulate, he affirmed, "continued beyond the abolition of the totalitarian regimes."
"It could seem that it is a tendency proper to the thirst to dominate that political absolutism has always wanted to exercise over the life of people," he contended. "Unfortunately, this type of instinct to dominate exists in man, if it is not braked by morality and the law, and it survives even the regimens that are no longer totalitarian."
Now, Bishop Sgreccia said, these parties no longer obey a regimen that "wants bio-political results" but rather "the interests of those who have money and the whim to play with others' lives."

Increasing Fertility: What You Can Do To Boost your Fertility

Fertility Booster No. 1: Weight Control

Whether or not you eat the so-called "fertility foods," maintaining a healthy weight is another way to enhance your fertility.

Studies show that having either a very low or very high BMI (body mass index) disrupts ovulation and may also affect production of key reproductive hormones.

"One of the first things I counsel women about is the role of their weight in influencing their fertility," says Janet Choi, MD, a reproductive endocrinologist at the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City.

For many women -- particularly those who are overweight -- problems are traced to ovulatory dysfunction, often caused by PCOS. That said, a recent Dutch study of some 3,000 women found excess weight could also interfere with fertility even if a woman is ovulating normally.

Reporting in the journal Human Reproduction, researchers documented a 4% decrease in conception odds for every point in BMI above 30. For women whose BMI was higher than 35, there was up to a 43% overall decrease in the ability to conceive.

The good news: Losing those extra pounds may preclude the need for pricey fertility treatments.

In fact, the British Fertility Society in 2007 issued new guidelines urging members to defer fertility treatments in very obese women (BMI over 35) until they gave weight loss a try.

At the same time, being too thin can also keep you from conceiving. "Women who are extremely lean often have a problem getting pregnant because they are not able to sustain a regular menstrual cycle -- for these women, it is more beneficial to gain weight," Chavarro says.

Fertility Booster No. 2: Reduce Stress

Although links between stress and infertility have been long debated, evidence continues to mount that the two are intertwined.

In studies conducted by Alice Domar, PhD, at Harvard's Mind-Body Institute, women who underwent stress reduction therapy saw dramatic increases in their ability to get pregnant. In fact, even women who were already undergoing fertility treatments had more successful outcomes when stress was kept under control.

More recently, research conducted at Magee Women's Hospital in Pittsburgh by Sarah Burga, MD, linked stress to a condition known as functional hypothalamic amenorrhea (FHA). Affecting some 5% of women in their reproductive years, it causes irregular or absent menstrual cycles.

Choi says, "I don't advocate quitting your job just to get rid of stress, but if you can try to get better day-to-day management of your anxieties, I believe it can work in conjunction with other methods to encourage fertility."

What can you do to reduce fertility-related stresses? Experts say anything that makes you feel relaxed can help -- be it listening to music, doing yoga, getting regular massages, writing in a journal, reading, gardening -- even chatting on the phone with friends.

You can also think outside the box for some unique ways to reduce stress. One recent study published in the journal Psychological Science found the simple act of holding hands with your spouse can drop stress levels dramatically. Or you might try renting a stack of romantic comedy videos.

If you're tempted to handle your stress by smoking or drinking alcohol, experts say don't. Numerous studies have shown that smoking contributes to both male and female infertility and can even impair the outcome of fertility treatments. Excessive alcohol consumption can impair ovulation in women and sperm production in men

Fertility Booster No. 3: Acupuncture
Studies linking acupuncture to conception have by and large been conducted on women undergoing fertility treatments. Still, many experts are quick to point out that this ancient Chinese medical art may also work to help encourage fertility overall -- even for those couples trying to conceive naturally.

"I sometimes recommend acupuncture, in conjunction with stress reduction activities such as yoga, to help encourage pregnancy," Pollack says.

"I wouldn't advise a couple to rely only on acupuncture, or to try it without first getting a fertility workup, but if everything checks out OK, acupuncture can be helpful," she says.

Fertility Booster No. 4: Ovulation

While being intimate during the "right time of the month" won't do anything to increase your fertility, it can increase your chances of getting pregnant -- simply by ensuring you and your partner connect during the time conception is possible.

Timing is key, says Pollack, because "an egg only lives for 24 to 36 hours." But sperm can live in the lower portion of a woman's reproductive tract a lot longer -- often up to five days. So to increase your chances of conceiving you should be intimate with your partner beginning three to four days prior to ovulation, and continuing up to 24 hours after ovulation.

But how do you know when you're about to ovulate? Experts say there are several methods you can use to approximate.

Chart your basal body temperature (BBT): Your BBT, which is the lowest temperature your body reaches during the day, is affected by the hormones that influence ovulation. Just prior to egg release, your BBT drops about a half degree, then rises again after you ovulate. So by carefully monitoring and keeping track of your daily temperature for one or two months, Pollack says you will begin to see a pattern take shape. If you have intercourse during the days when your temperature drops, then there is a good chance you will be within your fertility window.
Chart your cervical mucus: Corresponding to changes in body temperature are changes in cervical mucus. Just prior to ovulation, the mucus will seem more copious, thinner, and more clear than on other days. You might even be able to pull it apart so that it looks somewhat like rubber cement -- a phenomenon known as "spinbarket." By checking your cervical mucus daily and coordinating its consistency with your BBT, you can further nail down your most fertile time.
Use an ovulation predictor kit (OPK): These over-the-counter kits, costing from $20 to $75 a month, check for the hormonal changes found in urine prior to ovulation. Some use a color-sensitive dipstick while newer OPKs have digital readouts that may be easier to interpret. OPKs can alert you to ovulation up to two days in advance. Once the OPK is positive, Pollack says, you would "have intercourse that day and every day for three days to help increase your chances of conception." Another device that may predict fertility is the "ferning" microscope, which can be used to detect changes in saliva that precede ovulation. However, experts say this approach may not be as reliable as an OPK.
Buy a fertility monitor: At $200 to $400, they are not cheap. But a fertility monitor can indicate as many as six or seven fertile days each cycle. That can give you a clearer sense of your fertility window and potentially increase your odds of conceiving.
Buy a fertility monitor: At $200 to $400, they are not cheap. But a fertility monitor can indicate as many as six or seven fertile days each cycle. That can give you a clearer sense of your fertility window and potentially increase your odds of conceiving.Try a wristwatch fertility predictor, which detects chemical changes on the skin that indicate ovulation. Racy Lingerie and Intimates Retailer Frederick's of Hollywood Will Go Head to Head, Toe to Toe Against Victoria's Secret

Frederick's of Hollywood's Racy, Risque Lingerie and Intimates Apparel Empire

Racy Lingerie and Intimates Retailer Frederick's of Hollywood Will Go Head to Head, Toe to Toe Against Victoria's Secret at Fashion Fair Mall Conservative Central Valley of California Men and Women will Loosen Up a bit as they Lavish Frederick's on Loved Ones In preparation for the Holiday Season, Frederick's of Hollywood will open its newest store at Fresno, CA, Fashion Fair Mall. That will place it right across from Victoria's Secret which has been updating its merchandise line. Both stores will benefit from the heavy mall traffic. Despite the opening of some very chic stores at RiverPark Shopping Center, Fashion Fair Mall on the Shaw thoroughfares has been able to hold its own.

By November 1, Frederick's of Hollywood will open its doors to the public. Its push up bras and other sensual and sexy line of products will be displayed on the mannequins at the mall. How will the retailer keep teenagers away from some racy items? Will there be an age check up at the door? Some of the undies offered at Victoria's Secret may have already turned the heads of some older shoppers. The more risque the better it seems to be for the youngsters these days. For sure, Frederick's of Hollywood has known something that most have not known. Through its online site (Fredericks.com), the company may have already studied the statistics and found out that most of its sales and traffic come from the Central Valley which has recently exploded in populations.

There is a vibrant market here that can easily support these two competitors. The demographics explain it all. All the major stores are already here. Sephora has been meeting the beauty, makeup needs of most Central Valley women. Why not give them something to be proud of? Conservative or not, women and men from the San Joaquin Valley of California want to be proud of what they wear underneath. That is what Frederick's knows how to provide all too well. Trendy national retailers already exist in the Central Valley. We are talking about the likes of shopping centers such as Fig Garden Village, The Shops at River Park and elsewhere. What is the history of Frederick's of Hollywood? The company was founded in 1946 by Frederick Mellinger. It had a great mail-order business. As it grew, it began selling extremely seductive lingerie. Frederick's operates 175 stores nationwide. Its managers have been talking about pioneering the push-up bra, black bras and panties. It has been reported that in the 1940s a woman wearing a Frederick's bikini was detained for showing too much skin on a Southern California beach. It was during the conservative period. Is this the first time Frederick's of Hollywood is coming to Fresno, CA? Every woman who wants to feel sexy for herself will visit these two stores at least once a month. And men who want their woman to be sexy will either take them there or purchase little presents for them.

That is the way it was when the store was in downtown Fresno in the 1980s when competitors came out with new underthings. Everyone hopes that the store is going to stick around for a while this time. As far as the marriage or proximity of these two competitors, we already see how Quiznos and Subway attract traffic and do business. In most Califonria malls especially in the Bay Area, Southern California and Sacramento, wherever you see a Victoria's Secret store, there is a Frederick's.

This is what the marketers call clustering. Who will shop at Frederick's and Victoria's Secret? Shoppers who care about saving money will flock to Frederick's as its prices tend to be lower on most of its products. For example, the company carries $24 bras. Victoria's Secret's prices are higher. With its merger with Movie Star Inc., a manufacturer and distributor of intimate apparel, Frederick's can afford to sell some of its items at a lower price. Get ready to browse the store's corsets and the Seduction sub brand.

Fertility 101: Sex-enhancing Plants and Foods for Couples Trying to Have a Baby

Have you heard about celeri, chocolate and banana? Well, there are other plants that can help you take the stress out.

For centuries, people from various cultures have used certain plants for sexual enhancement, from boosting libido to improving erectile function to increasing lubrication in women. According to medicine hunter Chris Kilham, the power of many of these natural, plant-derived aphrodisiacs has been verified by clinical studies—and modern science has only begun to scratch the surface. Chris has traveled the world investigating medicinal plants and teaches ethnobotany at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He has authored 13 books, including Hot Plants: Nature's Proven Sex Boosters for Men and Women, which focuses on sex-enhancing plants. Chris shares just a few natural agents of desire with Dr. Oz:

Rhodiola rosea is a plant native to Siberia that radically reduces cortisol levels in the blood, thereby reducing stress and enhancing sexual function, Chris says. According to Chris, dosages between 100 and 300 milligrams a day have been proven effective in human studies. Moreover, Chris says rhodiola rosea enhances brain function, mood, cardiovascular function and immune function, and boosts energy, stamina and endurance. "When you take it, you feel it, and you feel good," says Chris, who takes it every day. "I feel more energetic, more lively, more clear minded."

Maca is a root resembling a turnip that is a staple food in the Peruvian highlands. Chris says maca contains compounds that significantly boost sexual desire, alleviates erectile dysfunction and also helps women relieve the uncomfortable symptoms of menopause, especially hot flashes and night sweats. There are products containing maca extract as well as maca powder that can be added to shakes or used like flour in cooking, Chris says.

Tongkat ali is a tree root from Malaysia that has been used in Southeast Asia for hundreds of years for the treatment of malaria as well as improving various sexual parameters, Chris says. According to Chris, tongkat ali has been shown to help alleviate erectile dysfunction, boost testosterone levels in males and progesterone levels in females, and may have cancer-inhibiting properties. He says it's a safe and effective substitute for brand-name drugs used to treat erectile dysfunction.

How Much Time is Appropriate For Satisfactory Sex? How much Time is Enough to Get a Fertile Woman Pregnant?

How Much Time is Appropriate For Satisfactory Sex? How much Time is Enough to Get a Fertile Woman Pregnant?

Ladies and gentlemen, get ready to read this piece of advice. Satisfactory sex does not take all night. If your co-workers are bragging about their sexual exploits or their all-nighter, this study conducted by the Pennsylvania State University will make them think twice. Satisfactory sexual intercourse for couples typically lasts only three to 13 minutes. That revelation tends to go against some of the claims by men and women who tend to brag around the water coolers. Keep in mind that this time does not include foreplay. It is all in the magic of what happens before you get to the actual act.

About 50 members of the Society for Sex Therapy and Research who have seen collectively thousands of patients over several decades were the respondents. So the study is backed by people who know what they are talking about. Two-thirds of them responded to the survey and rated a range of time lengths for sexual intercourse under the categories of "adequate," "desirable," "too short," or "too long."

How Long Should Intercourse Last?

What is too short? What is too long? What is adequate?

The group agreed that one to two minutes was too short. but adequate time was three to seven minutes, with the most desirable length of time for intercourse being seven to 13 minutes. Ten to 30 minutes was too long. So guys and gals, you have the recipe for satisfactory sexual intercourse. Now does it that long for pregnancy to occur?

Not all. One to 3 seconds is enough to cause pregnancy in a fertile woman.

How many disappointed men and women have there been all this time? Widely held beliefs, popular culture, and bragging rights maintained over centuries are the cause of such frustrations. How many relationships and marriages that have been destroyed by these faulty knowledge bases? Some past research also found that a large of percentage of men and women preferred sexual intercourse that lasted 30 minutes or more. No wonder that the situation for disappointment and dissatisfaction was always existing.

The results of this study will be published in the May issue of the Journal of Sexual Medicine, under the title, "How Long Should Intercourse Last?" The goal of this article is to dispel fantasies and encourage men and women with realistic data about acceptable sexual intercourse. Disappointments and dysfunctions will also be avoided.

Use Botox to Eliminate Wrinkle, Have Fresh Face & Enhance Beauty

More Women and Men Will Use Botox to Enhance Personal Attributes & Beauty

Allergan Inc. bought Inamed Corp. There is no looking back for Allergan. It was a good buy. Consider that Inamed's salesforce will be in place to meet the demands of botox-related products and meet the production forecasts. Inamed's acquisition will turn out to be a strategic move by Allergan Inc. Allergan paid $3.2 billion during the takeover. Keep in mind Inamed makes a whole range of dermal filler products used to smooth wrinkles. Without any doubt, Allergan will find values in the products that Inamed used to provide the market with. Allergan sees Inamed's products as a complement to its market-leading Botox anti-wrinkle treatment. Inamed also makes saline and silicone breast implants.

Hollywood, celebrities and regular professionals with disposable income will use Botox

Well, erasing your wrinkles will soon become a common thing to do. Already, many American consumers, young and mature, have already adopted this new wrinkle management type of operations. Its ease makes it popular. It is an out-patient type of intervention. More botox, implants and related products will be sold this year. Allergan stands to make more money from this acquisition.

Indian Medicine is the New Appeal in Tourism: Americans, Europeans & Others Are Willing Patients

Americans, Europeans and rich patients from other countries who want top-notch medical care on their own terms have recently found top Britain and US-educated Indian doctors. In fact, they are willing to fly all over the world to avoid the high costs of local medicine. If something is not done to address these galloping costs, India may have to treat most Europeans and Americans in the next few decades. Indian doctors who used to come to the States or Britain to practice won't have to go anywhere anymore. So far, they have been able to gain lots of experience in western hospitals. Once they decide to go back home to practice, they take all this experience with them. Now that they have charmed patients all over the world, these patients are willing to go to them. The words are already out. Indian doctors are good. According to a recent 60 Minutes report, India is not the only destination. Thailand and Singapore have also invested in top-notch hospitals catering to the needs and whims of value-seeking US and European patients.

So far, those who are seeking to have orthopedic surgery, plastic surgery, infertility treatment and cardiology can head to India to find treatment. They are asking questions and making economic decisions. Most patients already know this for a fact. In most US, Australian, and British hospitals, you will find names of Indian doctors serving in various capacities. Fleeing high cost treatment in their native countries, patients are outsourcing to India, Singapore and Thailand. They get lots of satisfaction for a fraction of the cost. Furthermore, consumers can get treatment that is not allowed back home. Constructions of hospitals, specialized clinics in Bombay or Mumbay, Delhi and Bangalore add to the urgency of the needs. The new term of "medical tourists" comes to explain this flow of special tourists. It was not uncommon to see people from South America, the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, the Middle East wanting western medicine. Now, the reverse is true. Westerners are flocking to the corridors of Indian healthcare centers to meet with Indian healthcare providers.

Slow the ticking of your biological clock: Women can have their babies later with Extend Fertility

How do you want to refer to it? Fertility and the freezer? Ice, Ice Baby? The big Chill? The biological clock on ice? Frozen assets? Putting your eggs in a different basket? Sperm bank babies?

Is it worth it? That’s the question you may be asking. Let women answer it. $12,000 for the procedure. What does the American Association of Reproductive Medicine say about it? It does not think it’s a good idea. It recommends it for women who suffer with cancer and other medical complications.

Here’s what Extend Fertility specialists are saying about this new breakthrough.

“Egg freezing has long been the holy grail of the fertility world. Although sperm and embryos (fertilized eggs) have been successfully frozen for the purposes of fertility preservation for decades, the freezing of unfertilized eggs (oocytes) has only recently been successful.
In the past, difficulty with egg freezing was due to an egg’s tendency to develop ice crystals during the freezing process (which compromise the integrity of the egg), as well as hardening of the egg’s outer membrane, making fertilization difficult. Two recent breakthroughs have allowed scientists to overcome these problems.

The first is the development of a new culture media system that protects the egg from damage during the freezing/thawing process. The media system dehydrates the egg during freezing and rehydrates the egg during thawing, thereby minimizing the formation of ice crystals. The second breakthrough is a fertilization technique known as ICSI (Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection). With ICSI, the embryologist injects the egg with a single sperm in order to fertilize it.

While egg freezing is still considered investigational by the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, by applying these new advances in cryopreservation, our scientists have realized a sharp increase in post-thaw survival rates (as high as 90%)1 and fertilization rates (as high as 80%)2. These improvements have led to pregnancy success rates from frozen eggs of up to 35% per embryo transfer,3 and have facilitated a dramatic increase in the number of babies born from frozen eggs to over 200 worldwide.4
Extend Fertility is the only company to offer egg freezing nation-wide. All Extend Fertility partner centers are carefully trained and monitored by recognized experts in the field of egg freezing, including Dr. Raffaella Fabbri of Bologna, Italy who is responsible for the largest number of frozen egg babies born worldwide (70 babies to date). Over 100 women have chosen to freeze their eggs at an Extend Fertility partner center.

Extend Fertility is committed to advancing the science of egg freezing. Working together to maximize success, Extend Fertility’s partner centers have made several proprietary improvements to the existing published protocols, often yielding better results than appear in the current literature. Our centers are also currently involved in an ongoing research study to improve the published data and significantly increase the number of babies born from previously frozen eggs” (Extendfertility.com).

California's Infertility & Fertility Clinics Are Open For Business: Find The Gold Spot in Making Babies

These new medical tourists are attracted to medical practices facilitated by the recent advances in medicine. They come with money because they have had it all along but it could not give them happiness. They want to fulfil their dreams of being parents.

Let them come from near and afar! The new wave of travelers to California want to have a makeover of their physique. With the recent recognition of Central Valley surgeons as being the best in the field of gastric bypass surgery and the reimbursements by Medi-Cal and other insurances, more and more obese people are coming to California. The majority of them ends up going to Fresno and Clovis areas to see one of the specialists. It's worth noting that Gastric Bypass surgery is a very popular weight reduction procedures. The local surgeons have performed so many of them with no or few risks that they have caught the attention of many insurance companies that agree to pay for their clients. The California Medical Board is paying close attention to what these surgerons, anesthesiologists are doing in the field.

Considering that the Central Valley of California has a high rate of obese individuals, the presence of these gastric bypass surgeons will contribute a lot to the battling of this epidemic.

Another local agency that is contributing to the war on weight is the Academy of the Sierras located in the building previously owned by the Kings View Mental Health System. So, if you have been fighting with your weight, there's is hope at the end of the tunnel. If your teenagers' obesity scares the living Jesus out of you, you can send them to California. Send them to the first residential high school for overweight young people between the ages of 13 and 18.

If bullies have been picking on you, calling names such as fat, obese, corpulent, fat suit, just know there's a school for you. The Academy of the Sierras, located in Reedley, California, has a program just for you. Its program includes healthy eating, academics, exercise, self-esteem and behavior training. The Academy of the Sierras is the nation's first residential high school for overweight young men and women. Will it become a franchise? Soon, franchisees may pop up all over the states.

So far, California has recast itself as the only destination for a new makeover. From Los Angeles to Santa Barbara and San Diego, it has the best plastic surgeons who can do the nip and tuck. Liposuction specialists are all over the state. California is the new medicine destination thanks to its centers of high study such as Stanford, Berkeley universities which are cited among the top 500 universities with Harvard coming on top of the list.

To the residents of the Central Valley long forgotten due to the more glitzy southern and northern Californias, the Academy of the Sierras has brought a certain measure of pride. So far the academy has received lots of publicity from national and international media. For example, newsmagazine Dateline NBC's camera people have been at the center. Crews from Gemran TV and French TV have spent time on the premises of the academy. Even BBC was following some British kids who were studying at the school. Other news agencies that visited the academy include CNN and ABC's Good Morning America.
